Following my lifelong passion for textile art, I took up embroidery about ten years ago. My main sources of inspiration are portraits and landscapes which I turn into pixelated designs. I then transform these designs into cross stitched, colourful and abstract images of reality. With love, precision and patience, the works slowly come to life.
Look closely and you’ll see the three-dimensional beauty of both the stitching and the fabrics used. Particularly viewed from a distance, portraits and landscapes become more clearly recognisable.
I make both free and commissioned works. Last year my works have been exhibited publicly in the Synagoge Buren in Buren and it was a success!
I’ve just embroidered three new portraits. For more works, navigate my website.
